Theme Park Project

“The Lit spot” is the place to turn on your creativity lights.
It is the combination of recycled aluminum coke cans that are transformed into a lit-up
lantern. Here, the guests will have a chance to participate in making their very own
lantern with the aluminum cans that are already collected and quickly cleaned up or
they can use their own coke cans. We want to bring the experience of transforming
something ordinary to something useful and beautiful as well as the power of creativity
and the importance for the environment.

The Overall goal: Finish the process of making the lantern in roughly 5 to 7 minutes.
Guests will have fun while making the lantern, appreciate the outcome and they can use
the lantern to walk around the enchanted forest.

The Story: With the enchanted forest theme, we want to emphasize the power of
creativity in the magical forest.  Our story is the suggestion of experience for the guest:
to be a part of something beautiful, a feeling of appreciation of how things work, a
sense of putting things together.

The Experience:
The guests will be immersed in the idea by making the lantern themselves, which will
help them to understand the working process.

The Design:
We will need a couple of tools to create the lantern such as a can opener, an X-ACTO
knife, mini LED lights; a chisel, a mini hammer, disinfection wipes and
visual instructions as the process go along. The lit spot will hold 5 to 10 people at a time.

The Takeaway:
By creating the lit up lantern by used coke cans, will inspire others to use their own
creativity to create something beautiful out of something ordinary.
Use recycled materials to create something useful to preserve the environment
instead of putting the trash elsewhere.

Game Assessment--Depression Quest

1. What's your reaction to test you just read or viewed?
I just played Depression Quest by Zoe Quinn. Overall, I think it is a fun game to play. It gives me a chance to understand people who has depression.
But there is too many contexts in each section, which made me felt bored and tired to read all of them.

2. What connection did you make with the story you read? Discuss the elements in the world made you be able to connect.
The detailed description of the protagonist's actions gave me more sense of connection.
For instance, "By the time you arrive home and change out of your uncomfortable work clothes the stress is weighing down on you like a heavy, wet wool blanket. Your computer seems to be staring you down from your desk. You want to sit down and work but the mere thought of trying to work sends your stress levels flying; more than anything you feel suddenly and absolutely exhausted, and feel a strong desire to simply hide in bed."
In this paragraph, I can totally feel the emotions, feelings, and stress from the person, which made me more to be more involved to the game. The "uncomfortable wor clothes", "heavy and wet wool blanket"

3. What change would you make to adapt this game to another media? What media would you use? What changes would you make?
Virtual reality game. This game is from the first perspective. So VR can make the player more involved. Instead of just reading, the player can sit in a room and look around. And follow the story to choose what they want to do.
I will change the description of the person's feeling to real sounds and actions. That can make the player understands the person's situation and emotions.

Project02--Planet

Planet Aden

-Aden is an Earth-like planet in the “goldilocks” zone, which means it has very similar carbon-based ecosystems to Earth.
-Aden is one and a half times to Earth’s mass. Therefore, the density of the atmosphere is higher than Earth. -That causes most plants are blue. The reason is that the particles in the air reduce the ultraviolet from the Sun.
-The gravity on Aden is a little bit higher than the Earth. That leads everything is shorter than the things on Earth, such as mountains, trees, and animals.
-Aden is covered by ocean in 56 percent. Some areas of water are pink because of the accumulation of coral corpse.

Week 01_Oz Map

The Map of Oogaboo

Welcome to the smallest but greatest country of Land of Oz--Oogaboo! This is a peaceful island with thirty-three citizens live in. The Queen--Ann's big house is set on the center of the island with a beautiful garden around. But it went overgrow after Ann's parents left because none take care of it anymore. Ann has a bigger dream instead of being a gardener--conquer the entire Land of Oz! She persuaded two men, Jo Apple and Jo Files, to build an army at first. Jo Apple has a big orchard to grow many types of food such as apples, buns, ice-cream, and sandwiches. Jo Files was working on planting trees which can grow daily necessities like dishes. clothes, and books. He is a brave and wise guy who supports the Queen's plan very much. And he told the Queen that he actually planted a gun-tree in his cottage because he knew that one day they would need weapons.

Because of that, Ann awards Jo Files to be the first general. Then he invited the owner of the market, Jo Market, to join the army. Jo Market runs a place that allows farmers to bring their crops and share with other citizens. There is no money such a thing in this harmony island. People take what they need in the market every Saturday morning. Since Jo Market became the second general, people have to go to the orchard to pick crops by themselves.

Finally, Jo File persuaded seventeen men for Ann's army. For training this new army, Ann commands them to reclaim a new place as the military training ground where behind her house so that she can supervise them through the window in her bedroom. Once they have done the three-days training, they built a big ship for the entire army. The Queens is the captain even though she has no knowledge about sailing.

In an early morning, with all citizens' cheers, the army sails the ship to an unknown country--a fantastic but bumpy journey starts.
